I published a short story in Glimmer Train after winning the magazine's Short Story Award for New Writers for "Roadrunner," a story that came out in November 2011. I also wrote an essay about fiction writing for Glimmer Train's monthly bulletin, which was later featured in Fiction Writers Review. More recently, I've been a top-25 finalist for Glimmer Train's Very Short Fiction award. Currently, I am working (slowly) on a novel.
I hold an MFA in creative writing from Oregon State University, where I taught composition and fiction writing. I've also moonlighted as an adjunct professor at Foothill Community College, where I taught an introductory writing course designed to prepare students to transfer to the University of California system.
